What a disaster this is turning out to be. £40billion of taxpayers' money on the line; small shareholders losing much or even all of their money; employees' jobs in danger, and a recession on the horizon. Is this Brown's equivalent of John Major's ERM debacle, but at a much higher cost? You can be sure the fat cats won't be losing any money - they'll be making it. Only the ordinary people suffer under our current system. UKpopdems have been alone in publicly declaring Brown as Britain's worst Chancellor for a century and now we think he may be Britain's worst Prime Minister too.
