State Opening of Parliament

Many MPs in the House of Commons want to see the pomp and ceremony surrounding the Monarch being further reduced. Why is this? They say it is because Britain needs to 'move into the 21st century': UKpopdems know it is really because these people are full of their own importance and think they are too grand to bend their knee to the Monarch. They don't understand that the Monarch represents the person of Britain itself; that the greatness and respect afforded to the Crown represents the peoples' aspirations for a great and respected Britain. UKpopdems believes there should be more pomp, more ceremony and more spectacle, and that MPs should be glad to bend the knee to the Crown; because in doing that they also bend the knee to Britain and the people of Britain.
