UKpopdems was set up to fight against
the labour party of Blair and Brown who tried, and in many respects
succeeded, in turning Britain into a bloated bureaucratic state where
the views, needs and dreams of ordinary Britons counted for little.
Now Labour has at last been thrown out by the people and a common
sense, hopefully fairer, Conservative/LibDem coalition has taken its
place. I believe the LibDems will succeed in holding back the Conservative's
lust for policies that support only the rich.
The coalition has promised a deeper democracy where ordinary Britons
will be listened to; a rolling back of state bureaucracy so the needs
of ordinary Britons come fist; and a correction of the Labour financial
disaster so that, eventually, Britons will be better off for the long
term.
These are also UKpopdems visions and the coalition should be supported
and monitored to make sure that ordinary Britons do indeed benefit.
In light of this hope, UKpopdems has been deregistered as a political
party and reduced campaigning to a watching brief.
